George Brough made a Superior motorcycle, “The Brough Superior”. The ss100 meant super sports 100 as it was guaranteed to go over 100mph! Before it left the factory.

Why would GM bother when their pushrod motors consume less fuel per horsepower made? GM’s 6.2L 438hp Corvette gets the same combined fuel economy of a 2.2L S2000 even though the Corvette weighs almost 500lbs more. Go ahead, enjoy your DOHC “technology” I will gladly take twice the power per gallon of gas I buy.

Actually I have driven both cars. With the Vette I only got 15 mpg in the town with a slight lead foot. Driving the s2000 the same way I got 22 mpg.

Right with you.  Check out Garage419’s test of fuel economy between a prius and c5 corvette. The corvette was only 4mpg below the prius if I remember correctly. Go watch the video.
