this is an adequate disk lock. I dropped it once from a height of no more than a foot – while putting it on my bike, and now I have constant problems with the locking mechanism, not releasing.
Prior to the drop, it worked great. But it does make me concerned with any theft attempt.
You never know how hard these things are to take off until you lose the key! I didn’t lose the key but was in Sequoia National Park when I realized I forgot to bring the key after a week long backpacking trip. The ‘flaw’ you ask? The key to my other CABLE trimax lock was able to lock the disc lock! So when I came back to my motorcycle after the trip, I couldn’t find the key. Why? I didn’t bring it! It was still at home on my key rack! Luckily, I had friends and we were able to borrow a hacksaw and take turns for about an hour to get the damn thing off! I will never buy Trimax again but I have to say it was real hard to get it off!..hence the 2 star rating and not 0 stars!!!!!
