You never know how hard these things are to take off until you lose the key! I didn't lose the key but was in Sequoia National Park when I realized I forgot to bring the key after a week long backpacking trip. The 'flaw' you ask? The key to my other CABLE trimax lock was able to lock the disc lock! So when I came back to my motorcycle after the trip, I couldn't find the key. Why? I didn't bring it! It was still at home on my key rack! Luckily, I had friends and we were able to borrow a hacksaw and take turns for about an hour to get the damn thing off! I will never buy Trimax again but I have to say it was real hard to get it off!..hence the 2 star rating and not 0 stars!!!!!

this is an adequate disk lock. I dropped it once from a height of no more than a foot - while putting it on my bike, and now I have constant problems with the locking mechanism, not releasing.
Prior to the drop, it worked great. But it does make me concerned with any theft attempt.
