They need to do this in the states
they might be on their slowing down lap
I would put money on a tube-framed Buell against the XR – assuming similar rider ability – based on the experience of riding my 1999 Cyclone back-to-back with the XR, and the fuel-in-frame Buells make the Cyclone feel like a lorry.
It might give the 985cc CityX a run for its money, but the Buell’s light weight and handling will probably come out on top unless you get a decent straight.
Close enough? No, they’re from different worlds.
They’re close enough that the edge will go to the better rider…
Then you have different machine setups and prepwork.
For the street, the xr is more comfortable. The buell is more of a sportbike and has the engine sitting higher up in the frame…
anyone know how the xr1200 do against buells? just curious
FAAAGS!
Ever watch dirt mile racing? The XR750s are going 140+. These 1200s, modified like those were, are sure to be faster than most sportbike riders would be able to handle.
I wouldn’t automatically agree. I could keep up with and even pass a few noobs on 600s and Ducatis at a track day at Buttonwillow – on my 2007 Harley 883R.
You’re right – it’ll be rare, but if one is competent, one should occasionally surprise a sportbiker.
Uh…unless they’re sleeping, you won’t.
Don’t get carried away.. It’s fast and handles well for a Harley, but not compared to a sport bike.
Just bought one of these babies last week. Having a Super Trapp 2:2 Megaphone system installed. Can’t wait to rip up the streets and surprise a few Jap and Italian sport bikes.
Close racing & affordable, I hope. Seems very good.
Now thats a harley I like.
these are r8 gud.. luv the sound of them
cant wait for them to come to bsb in 2009 season!
